Cornering and Praise of Ecuador

Dear friends, this is my vision of the poem, "Praise of Ecuador"
of Jorge Carrera Andrade, soon to be published with Girandole (Ecuadorian Association of Children and Young Adult).

Praise of Ecuador Jorge Carrera Andrade

Ecuador, my country,
world emerald embedded in the equatorial ring,
you consecrate the alliance between man and the earth, earthy
the wedding with the bride of volcanic deep
Cereal breast and body, always dressed girlfriend

Sunday the sun farmer, father of the seeds.
I want to kiss your whole body green jungle
your hair, your belly
corn and sugar cane and stand
my temple flowers on your chest.

taught me
the natural sciences generous tree and the tree healer,
parlan of birds, over painted nuts,
the new zoology
a fabulous world and history of a people groaning
to dance firing his yearning
clouds rocket
Holidays,
fire that melts in your blue tears.

You taught me to love the universe
and accept my fate of planetary
capita, pastor of ghosts vicuñas
by
strange cities where no runs in relief of injured star
drowning in a puddle.

Ecuador, vegetable and you made me quake,
solidarity of all living things, which humbly
jar Shadow fertile.
I am desolate, rugged as the mountains, deep as
Inca treasure cave.

slumbers inside me on a crater lake.
My face is a landscape of wilderness in the rain, my heart
sitibundo
a cactus that asked for a handout of dew.

Ecuador, back to you with
prioste dress to dance on your bosom green, dancing to death

hearing how your heart beats
pepper and adobe house.
I hit his hand on the harp of ages
awakening to music in his coffin
dust and the old god of thunder. Give me your welcome

dew green
big hug your
oh mother crowned with ice and hummingbirds!
Show me the way of the lost mine that saves
metals deep origin. Give your plants
magical balms
your prodigious and memorable stone talisman
where the sun has set
their emblems.
